“We founded Westmorland Homecare on traditional values because we wanted to do things differently. There’s no place like home and everyone should be free to remain where they are happy surrounded by the memories that make up a lifetime. After personal experience trying to find good care for my Grandma and struggling I knew there must be a better way.”
Our homecare assistants are carefully selected and rigorously checked to ensure they are up to the standard we expect. It is important to us that all our homecare assistants are dedicated to their role and passionate about providing the highest quality care. All our homecare assistants are criminal records checked and clear an extensive vetting procedure before meeting any clients. All applicants must provide 4 satisfactory references and be suitably skilled and experienced. All staff undergo extensive training, delivered in house, to ensure they are meet our standards and can deliver the quality care we expect. They are trained thoroughly during the initial training period before undertaking shadowing with experienced staff. Only when we are completely satisfied are they then allowed to work independently. All staff undertake continued professional development throughout their career including specialist training in dementia, disabilities, specialist conditions, dignity and respect. We also offer all our staff opportunities to complete NVQ qualifications.
