High Sheriff recognises work done by Westmorland Homecare Staff
It has been nearly one year since the country first went into lock down. The team at Westmorland Homecare have worked through the pandemic to ensure some of the most vulnerable members of our community remain safe and well in their own home. In recognition of the work of the whole team, they have been awarded a special performance certificate from the High Sheriff of Cumbria in relation to the work done over this last year as they adapted working practice to ensure our community across the South Lakes remains safe.
Bernadine Davies Care Manager at Westmorland Homecare said “it has been an extremely challenging year for our whole community. Having worked in care for over 30 years I have never worked with a more dedicated caring and compassionate team, it is a joy to be able to support our whole team, and I cannot thank the enough for their work throughout this pandemic.
The High Sheriff is a tradition that dates back to before the Norman Conquest, with an appointment in every country, it is the oldest Royal appointment on our Land. Julie Barton is the current High Sheriff of Cumbria, an entirely voluntary role and said “Congratulations to Westmorland Homecare. I am very pleased to award their team a Special Performance Certificate for the innovative and caring ways in which they have continued to offer care services and support locally. This certificate acknowledges the efforts of all their team”
There are many businesses that have had to adapt and react to the ever changing COVID regulations that have been put on the country over the last year. Director Dr Chris Moss says “Westmorland Homecare is far more than a local business it is an extended part of many peoples family, we take this role extremely seriously. It has been so important to ensure both our clients and staff are looked after supported and feel safe through this pandemic, we pride ourselves in being one of the UKs leading homecare services, to receive this award is a real credit to the dedication and professionalism of our whole team”
COVID has affected communities across the south of this county in so many ways, with spring upon us we hope that infection rates will drop as we climb back up the ladder to a sense of normality. It is a credit to all the businesses and support services across the region to have reacted so fast to the ever changing COVID requirement.
