I am truly passionate about people and doing my absolute best to be of service wherever I can. They say you don’t really work if you love what you do and I now love what I do.

I have had a varied career with a large portion of my years spent working as a civil servant within the disability benefits areas. One of the roles I held was to explain decisions, usually refusals, and help to have them reconsidered where I could. My compassion and empathy for people grew immensely during this time which led to me volunteering my time to support elderly members of my local community.

My life then went off on a tangent and I completed a law degree as I thought I wanted to retrain and become a solicitor, but I was trying to be something I wasn’t meant to be. I cared to much about people and so I started working in domiciliary care and what a joy it was. Caring for people comes naturally for me and I loved bringing a wee bit pf happiness to their days.

I have personal experience with a family member suffering for many years with numerous debilitating health conditions and so I truly understand the impact, emotional and otherwise, upon all involved when a family members health deteriorates and they wish to remain in their own home. This is why I love what I do because here at Westmorland homecare we make remaining at home possible. We provide outstanding reliable compassionate competent care to your family members giving you piece of mind when you can’t be there yourselves.

Leslie Howe

My roots are in Westmorland being brought up in a fellside farming community and attending local schools.

I have been involved in finance and administration since leaving school in 1986 and became involved in Health & Social Care in 2010 caring for people with all care needs including dementia and palliative care.

I have just returned from working in Alberta, Canada for 15 years working within small farming communities in care and finance. It’s great to be home though!

I am excited about being part of the Westmorland Homecare team and hope to make a difference in the community we serve.

Hi, my name is Amy. I have recently joined Westmorland Homecare as care coordinator scheduler.

I have worked in health and social care for the last 10 years now. I have mainly worked in hospital settings, but I am very passionate about helping and supporting clients within their own home and maintaining their independence.

I grew up in Blackpool and have recently moved over to Kendal to begin my new chapter working for Westmorland Homecare.

I very much look forward to meeting you all and I am more than happy to help in any way I can.

Nicola Smith

My entrance into Social Care began when I became an administrator in a residential care home. I became fascinated and passionate about how person-cantered care, could make such a difference to people’s lives. I trained to be a health care assistant, enabling me in my spare time to do some relief care.

During my time at the home, I progressed to the Registered Manager role, which I undertook for 5 years.

During this time my passion was to drive our care service forward, with a person-cantered approach at the forefront, incorporating new and innovative practices along the way. We gained a business award for “against all odds” during the covid epidemic and how we managed it. Introducing new forms of communication to enable the residents to keep in contact with their loved ones.

I have also had experience working with young adults with a variety of learning difficulties from Autism and Pathological Demand Avoidance, ADHD, Dyspraxia to name but a few.

Lastly my previous role as a support worker in the community, where I was able to adapt & hone my skills to assisting my clients to live their best possible life.

Now I’m looking forward to my new journey at Westmorland Homecare as a Client Care Co-Ordinator.

Tracey Lawther

With over 30 years of experience in the care sector, Tracey brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication and compassion to her work, specialising in supporting individuals with disabilities and learning difficulties. She is known for her positive outlook, kind and caring nature, and her passion for promoting independence and empowering clients to have a voice in their own care.

Tracey is equally passionate about developing others — helping team members grow in confidence, skills and compassion to become the very best caregivers they can be. She believes that great care starts with investing in people and creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

Outside of work, Tracey enjoys travelling and spending time outdoors. She has a particular love for the countryside — especially cows and sheep — reflecting her appreciation for nature and rural life.

I have been with Westmorland Homecare since April 2024 as a HCA. I recently joined the office team as a care coordinator schedular.

I am extremely proud to work for Westmorland Homecare, I enjoy supporting our clients live independently in the comfort of their own home!

I have been working in the healthcare sector since I was 16. I cared for my Great Grandma when I was a youngster and saw what that help meant to her which encouraged me to progress in the healthcare sector!

When I am not at work, I love to be with my partner on the farm sorting our cattle! I also have a tortoise called Norman, I got him for my 21st off my parents and boyfriend, I love to talk about him and show plenty of cute / mischievous pictures!!

I enjoy days out with my friends and family, especially a winter walk with a pumpkin spice hot chocolate!

I started working in Adult Health and Social Care around 23 years ago. I have worked in different roles throughout the years including homecare, reablement and management but my core values have remained the same, to provide holistic care and to assist people to remain within their own homes.

I have my NVQ 3 and have undertaken a range of training to expand my knowledge and continue to do so.

I came to work for Westmorland Homecare as the values they hold are essential in the work we do, and I have found the Customers we care for truly are at the heart of everything they deliver. I thoroughly enjoy my role, no two days are the same and I still have the opportunity to deliver hands on care.

I started my Westmorland Homecare journey in 2024. I had previously worked in retail for around 10 years and decided I wanted a career change. I started as a HCA initially. This career change had a massive positive impact on my life, and I was so happy that I had joined the company.

I began with no experience in care, but with the help from the team I quickly picked up all the skills I needed and thoroughly enjoyed the work I was doing. The job gave me a sense of purpose and I knew that I was impacting clients’ lives in a positive and enriching way. The job itself is very rewarding.

I then became the Scheduling Co-Ordinator in 2025. I look forward to seeing you.

Theresa Miller

I started care when I joined the Westmorland homecare in 2020 as Homecare Assistant, I came from a background of hospitality sector for over 20 years. I was promoted to Team Leader after 18 months of employment in Westmorland Homecare, leading and mentoring our Homecare Assistants team in Garstang over Wyre area. I really enjoyed the aspect of making positive differences, building relationships, promoting wellbeing and enriching lives for the people we care for. Putting a smile on people’s face is the most rewarding feeling I have ever felt. Very passionate in community engagements and speak to everyone we see. I completed my qualification in Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care during my time as Team Leader. In 2024 I took on the role as the Training & Recruitment Coordinator, I am passionate about delivering excellent levels of care, believe good knowledge, fantastic training experience and most importantly great support to our team is crucial to ensure high level of care is delivered. I am thrilled to share my transferable skills, experience and knowledge to our team in order for them to be confident and competent in their roles. I am absolutely proud to be a part of an outstanding company across the care sector that supports people to continue to live independently in their own home.

Rachel Dunn

I started working in Health and Social Care around 7 years ago, following my Social Work degree. I worked in a hospital setting where I learned of the pressures on people needing care and support following a hospital discharge. This increased my passion for advocating for people’s wishes to return to their own homes safely. My own personal experience of home care for my grandmother several years ago, inspired me to start my career in recruitment for Healthcare Assistants to ensure genuine and compassionate care was being delivered. I believe that it is extremely important to keep people out of hospital and in their own homes for as long as possible. I am looking forward to being a part of the team at Westmorland Homecare and being involved in the recruitment and training process to make sure all our carers are continuously supported in order to provide the best quality of care to all our clients.

Taylor Dixon – Care Coordinator – Scheduling

I started working in home care as a home care assistant around 5 years ago during the COVID 19 pandemic, as I was furloughed from my previous work and just felt that I wanted to get out there and try something that would make more of a difference to people’s lives. I wasn’t sure if it would be a long-term thing at the time but found that I absolutely loved it and had found my true passion. I loved the feeling of being able to help people to really get the most of their own lives and keeping them independent in their own homes really gave me a huge sense of satisfaction. For the last 2 years I worked as a scheduler and recently joined Westmorland Homecare as their scheduling and admin coordinator. I’m truly passionate about delivering rotas that provide our service users with excellent continuity and security, as I feel this really makes a difference to the quality of the care and ensures that real trusting bonds are built between our dedicated home care assistants and the users of our service.

“My name is Gareth, I joined Westmorland Homecare in October 2024 as part of the office team. The company, its values and how it treats it clients and staff was a real pull for me as it’s something that I believe in myself and have been blown away at how much more has come to the surface since I joined. I have enjoyed learning about each client individually and meeting them. I will be looking to progress with Westmorland Homecare as it’s an amazing company and can’t wait to see where this journey will take me.

Before joining Westmorland Homecare, I spent time working in residential childcare, I was also a driver and a gym instructor. I love being in the outdoors in my spare time: walking, running, and cycling. I have done multiple marathons and enjoy completing as many triathlons as possible. I am a keen walking and during my teenager years completed the Nijmegen marches in Holland on multiple occasions. I also enjoy playing and watching sports such as football, cricket and rugby. My wife and family are everything to me and love spending time around them no matter what we are doing. I feel very honoured to be in a position where I can help to support staff, clients and their families. I’m excited to get to know everyone more and be able to continue learning and striving for more success.”

I have a variety of experience in different care roles, such as, SEN, Palliative Care, Complex Care, Companionship, Live in Care (Dementia) and Hospital After Care services. This variety of experience developed into a passion for ensuring everyone has the right to receive care at home safely with an enriching lifestyle and without judgement. In my free time I enjoy dog sitting and kitten hand rearing with my wife. I also enjoy organising and taking part in fundraising events, skydiving, mixed martial arts and via ferrata.”

Hello, my name is Rose. I joined Westmorland Homecare at the end of 2023 as a Homecare Assistant. It has been such a pleasure and a privilege and I have established some wonderful relationships with clients built on mutual appreciation and affection. It was a dream to find Westmorland Homecare as the beliefs and values held by the company are so closely aligned with my own, and I have truly loved every minute since starting with the company. I am now in the role of training and staff development which I love, training and inspiring new staff. I have spent many years working within 3^rd sector, health and wellbeing, holistic therapies and coaching roles, having completed extensive training and CPD in these areas, and in particular around Mental Health. I spent 8 years working as support worker and youth worker for a local charity; Completed Access to Healthcare and Nursing Diploma in 2014/2015 and took up place studying Midwifery at the University of Cumbria in 2015. I then had a career change and so trained in Health Coaching and holistic therapies which complimented my experiences. However, I have always been drawn to care for people, so this move into the Care Sector has felt like coming home and allows me the opportunity to put all my previous experience to the best possible use!

I love music, I am a drummer and taught drums in Lancaster Castle when it was a prison. I taught myself guitar and I am currently trying to learn the piano. I also love photography, the countryside, food…and my little family – my two sons (not to forget my grown-up daughter!) and my little Manx cat Uriel.

Lisa Hall

Care Coordinator – Training

I have chosen to join Westmorland Homecare as Trainer and Recruiter following 30 happy years within the Health & Social Care sector and benefit from experience within various settings. I began my career as a Health Care Support Worker from leaving school, and undertook GNVQ qualifications at college continuing to work within the field in which I am passionate for a further 15 years. I have steadily progressed throughout my career undertaking my nurse training qualification in 2008 and successfully qualifying in 2011.

Prior to my nurse training, I undertook a Bachelors Degree in Health Studies & Health Promotion which primarily led me to undertaking the nurse training qualification. I have chosen to join Westmorland Homecare as trainer / recruiter to allow me the opportunity to train and develop employees in their domiciliary care journey whether entirely new to the care sector or benefitting from experience.

I was immediately sold by Westmorland Homecare following being contacted by the Regional Director – Dan whom was clearly dedicated to deliverance of excellent standards of care and informing me of the ‘Outstanding’ achievement gained across all services with CQC. Personally I am married with three now grown up children, and in my spare time I enjoy, going to the gym, swimming and reading as well as spending time with my family which is rather large as I am the eldest of six girls.

Hello there my name is Julia, client care coordinator with Westmorland Homecare in Preston. I have relocated to Preston recently with my partner and two dogs. Outside of my work I enjoy any outdoor activities, I love music and food, keeping fit and spending time with my dogs and family. I also really enjoy weekends of wild camping.

I feel very fortunate to be part of such an amazing team. I have over twenty years of experience in health and social care gaining a lot of knowledge across the sector working in a residential setting and domiciliary setting. I am very passionate about providing a high standard of care and been able to support clients to be happy and safe in their own home.

From the first meeting here within the branch I knew that I wanted to work with Westmorland Homecare. Their passion for best practice and genuine care for their clients and team shone through. I really enjoy my administrative role and it’s wonderful to meet the fantastic team and clients at their social events.

One of my proudest moments was raising money for our local hospice and trekking the Great Wall of China. I now enjoy supporting my own children with their fundraising endeavours and spending time with my husband walking our dog, Shelby.

Hi I’m Liz and I’m very excited to join the Westmorland Homecare family. I have relocated to Lancashire from Northern Ireland to be closer to family bringing with me 20+ years operational experience in Health & Social Care. During those 20+ years I have progressed from being a health care assistant to my current role as Registered Manager which I have been undertaking now for the last 12 years.

I really feel I have found my vocation in life as I have a real passion for helping others be that staff or clients and gain immense job satisfaction from making a positive difference no matter how small to the lives of others. I have worked across the sector supporting adults such as frail elderly, those with either learning or physical disabilities & those with mental health conditions establishing extensive relationships with a vast range of fellow professionals encouraging multi disciplinary working and the sharing of best practice. Hello, my name is Anna, Client Care Coordinator with Westmorland Homecare in South Lakes.

My family moved to Cumbria when I was six years old; we lived in Burneside, and I went to school in Windermere and Kendal. I moved to Grange-over-Sands in my mid-twenties, where I married and raised my family.

I joined the Westmorland Homecare family in October 2021 as a Health Care Assistant in the Grange area, changing role in May of 2024. I find working for Westmorland Homecare very rewarding, the company is very supportive and caring towards their staff as well as their clients, and I feel valued and very fortunate to be part of this amazing team.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time outdoors, particularly thorough walking the Lakeland Fells and open water swimming. These activities not only help me stay physically active but also provide a sense of wellbeing and connection with nature.

Jess McNamee

Hello, my name is Jess, I am a Care Coordinator here at the South Lakes branch of Westmorland Homecare.

I have lived in the South Lakes area on and off my entire life and have recently moved to Backbarrow with my partner and my gorgeous dog Alfie.

When I was 18 I moved to Manchester to start a degree in Law and competed this in 2018. However, after realising I was a home bird, I came back and decided I wanted to experience something different. I began my career in care when I was 25 and haven’t looked back since. I have worked in different settings with all ages, and this is something I am extremely grateful for.

I joined Westmorland Homecare in April 2024 and can confidently say I have never felt happier in a job.

The support and care from this company is outstanding and we really are one big family. I feel very lucky to be a part of this team.

Outside of work I spend a lot of time with my family who are spread from Barrow to Lancaster and enjoy going to visit my friends who are currently located all over the UK.

I also enjoy going walking around the Lakes with the dog and trying lots of different food spots.

My name is Suzanne , I am a care coordinator at Westmorland Homecare and have worked here since 2018, caring for our lovely clients in my locality and now I am also based in our Kendal office using my background knowledge to support the wider team of carers in the South Lakes .

I am a retired Nursing Sister and specialised in emergency medicine in Worcestershire , working for the NHS for 30 years before taking early retirement and relocating to Grasmere with my family , including my mother who I nursed together with a fantastic team of District Nurses and my GP enabling her to spend her final days at home with us which was lovely.

I enjoy cooking ,baking, gardening, art, and photography and always have craft projects on the go , I also love my two Golden Retrievers, Cleopatra and Esmeralda and going on lovely long walks with them in our beautiful surroundings.

Charlotte started working in health and social care around 7 years ago, after being inspired by the care her grandmother who suffered with multiple sclerosis received for many years, and the difference it made to her life. This ignited a passion for wanting to make a positive difference in people’s lives in the same way. Charlotte started out as a healthcare assistant and through lots of hard work and training and gained her NVQ level 3 and level 5 in management for health and social care. Charlotte believes that care and support should be tailored to the individual and really enjoys being proactive and problem solving to ensure people get the most out of their care and support. “I have worked in partnership with a wide range of clientele and professionals over the years, and have a good understanding of the huge positive impact that receiving good quality care can have on people’s lives, and I believe Westmorland Homecare truly delivers that.

Hi, my name is Sayde. I have worked for Westmorland Homecare for just over a year now. I started off as a HCA then worked my way up to Team Leader, I am now in Scheduling in the office. I have many years of experience in the care sector. I have previously been a live in carer when I lived down south and also worked in domiciliary care.

I moved the to The Lake District 5 years ago and I have never looked back! In my spare time I am a team leader for a local rescue team – Bay Search and Rescue. I enjoy going away in my campervan, hiking the mountains ( I am currently on 58 wainwrights ) wild swimming, making jewellery and just being out in nature.

My name is Jodie, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself as I am now the Care coordinator for the Grange over sands and Milnthorpe area.

I live in Flookburgh with my husband, three children and two dogs. I enjoy baking for my family and they show their appreciation by eating everything very quickly! I spend time walking with my dogs although its not quite as enjoyable in the rain as it is in the sunshine. I enjoy reading thriller/suspense books and will spend hours curled up on the sofa with the fire on reading.

My journey with Westmorland Homecare began as a HCA, I am very excited to be supporting the office for this wonderful company. Having worked as a HCA and living in the area I feel I have some great knowledge and cannot wait to get out and meet you all.

Dinah Bell

Hello, I’m Dinah I joined the team here at Westmorland Homecare in Lancaster as Coordinator for Staff Development & Training, and have loved the role, I have moved closer to home and now work form the Kendal branch. I have a background in nursing and have always enjoyed working with people in a range of support roles. I relocated to the northwest during lockdown and sort of ‘fell’ into a care role, then fell in love with it! It reminded me of the reasons I went into nursing all those years ago – to genuinely make a positive difference to people’s lives. I took on the staff training role and discovered a new passion for teaching and sharing knowledge and experience – I love how much we can learn from each other!

Outside work I enjoy walking and exploring this beautiful area and tending to our home-grown veggies in the garden. I have 3 grown up children and love nothing more than the family coming together when we can chat, eat (preferably cake!) and catch up with each other’s news. We are into board games and can be very competitive, so family gatherings are usually noisy affairs!

I am really enjoying to getting to know everyone in the Westmorland family and am looking forward to helping and supporting our Homecare Assistants as they continue to deliver truly outstanding care to our lovely clients.

My name is Lisa and I am the new Care Coordinator – Recruitment and Training in the Preston branch. For the first 10 years in my NHS career as a HCA in Genito-Urinary medicine which I absolutely adored. For the past 6 years I have also worked as Crisis worker in a sexual assault referral centre where we took forensic samples on behalf of the police.

In both of my NHS roles, the biggest part of my job was as support and advocacy for the service-user. I was always thinking about what I could do to make situations better for people and treating everyone as an individual as no two people are the same. When I came across Westmorland Homecare, I could not believe how in-line our way of thinking was. Always thinking about how the client was feeling and what can we do to make this the best care that it possibly can be. I saw the way they acted like a family as opposed to colleagues and it was something I had never seen before and after being here a couple of months now, I can honestly say that’s exactly how it feels. I can’t wait to grow the team and meet all the new clients, it’s a really exciting time.

In my spare time, I love to cook. My favourite thing is to have fun dinner parties at the house, I once even went on Come Dine with Me………and before you ask, NO I didn’t win, but I’m not bitter

My journey into Health and Social Care began as soon as I left school when I enrolled to study Health and Social Care at college and I have worked in this field ever since – nearly 30 years! During this time, I have been a Health Care Assistant, a Senior Carer, a Team Leader and a Registered Care Home Manager. Throughout my career I have been fortunate to gain my NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management.

Prior to working for Westmorland Homecare, I had always worked within a care home environment but I have found domiciliary care to be a revelation! Being able to support our clients in their own home in order to facilitate their wishes to remain at home has proven to be such a rewarding and worthwhile vocation. I began working as a Health Care Assistant after a 7-year hiatus from care. I felt it was really important to get back to basics and familiarise myself again with the profession I am very passionate about. I am now a Care Coordinator responsible for consulting with potential new clients and providing continued support to all of our wonderful existing clients. I now feel I am now in a position that is perfectly balanced to use my skills and knowledge to enhance our clients experience, whilst still physically seeing our clients regularly to help provide the best service Westmorland Homecare have to offer.

I started my life within the Westmorland family in 2022 after spending the previous 20 years working within the hospitality sector. I first started as a HCA and was soon promoted to a Team Leader. I loved the role as it was completely different to anything I’d experienced and the reward of helping people and improving their lives was immeasurable. A position within the office came available in 2023 and I decided that I’d like to explore how that side of the company operates. I love my role; I work with an amazing team and I’m proud to be part of the Westmorland family.

When I’m not working, I can usually be found on the golf course or watching formula 1. I’m an avid Newcastle united fan and I have 3 very excitable dogs, Denzel, Daphne and Dolly. Very much look forward to meeting you.

Hi, I’m Brenda. I have previously been a travel agent for 26 years and have travelled all over the world and even worked on the cruise lines in Alaska. I then went to work for a healthcare company and helped people find the right care for them, whether in the comfort of their own home or in a 24-hour placement. This job also gave me the opportunity to work in the Isle of Man for 6 months too.

I applied for the Care Coordinator role at Westmorland Homecare in Lancaster and started in August of this year. I have been made so welcome and look forward to the future with Westmorland Homecare.

In my spare time I love to spend time with my family and friends. I love going to music gigs, walking, travelling, and having friends round for meals and entertaining.

Hi I’m Ashleigh and I’m the Care Manager at Westmorland Homecare, where I support both our office and community teams to make sure we’re delivering outstanding, person-centred care every day.

I’m a registered nurse by background and have worked in Neonatal Care, Kidney Care, and even Prison Nursing before moving into social care. Since joining Westmorland in 2023, I’ve held roles in staff training and client care, and I’m proud to be part of a company whose values truly reflect what outstanding care should be.

Outside of work, I love reading, swimming, baking, yoga, and spending time with friends and family. I occasionally try my hand at crafts – but I’m definitely more enthusiastic than skilled!

Hi, my name is Lisa, I am originally from Manchester but have called Kendal home for almost 7 years, although two of these were spent in Australia during COVID.

My background is in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, I enjoy promoting health and well being in all aspects of life and I am currently training towards a Diploma in Allied Health Sciences. I have spent the last 12 months as a Homecare Assistant and have recently joined Westmorland Homecare where I am looking forward to providing support to our staff and clients from the office.

In my free time I like to take part in the Lakeland Trail runs, and I love to travel so destination suggestions are always welcome.

I grew up in South Birmingham and moved to Milenthorpe 11 years ago, to open our own business which my husband now runs, this was the best decision I have made, and now consider this home.

I joined Westmorland Homecare as part of the Scheduling team. I am feeling very honoured and excited to work alongside such a very lovely and welcoming team.

I moved back to Kendal after spending 4 years in Leeds studying an Adult Nursing degree. I have been involved and worked in healthcare for the past 12 years and have loved every minute of it. My interest in healthcare increased when I volunteered in Kenya for 3 months, working alongside Voluntary Services Overseas- International Citizen Service (VSO-ICS). My role was to promote and express awareness on disability inclusion and thoroughly loved the unique but incredible opportunity I experienced. I have an ongoing passion to enhance quality of life for all individuals and help them as much as I can. When I’m not working, I spend most of my time hiking, mountain biking, paddle-boarding, or getting out exploring the Lake District with my dog, Chester.

Hi, I’m Ellie. I joined Westmorland Homecare in 2021 as a Homecare Assistant and immediately knew it was the right place for me – the wonderful clients and the company values truly stood out. I’ve always loved supporting our clients enjoy meeting everyone at our client socials.

In 2023, I transitioned into the office as an Admin & Scheduling Coordinator and was recently promoted to Senior Coordinator. I’m proud to be continuing my journey with a company that enriches so many lives.

Before joining Westmorland Homecare, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Liverpool John Moore’s University, where I focused my dissertation on Cardiovascular Physiology. My passion for sport inspired my degree choice – football is my main love (You’ll often find me at Liverpool FC matches!), and golf is a close second!

Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family and our dogs. I started paddleboarding a couple of years ago, so you will often find me up in the lakes during the summer months!

It’s a privilege to continue supporting our clients and their families from the office, and I’m excited to keep growing my career here at Westmorland Homecare.

I began working in social care after I left college back in 2015. I began work for a community care agency and then went on to work as a private carer for a gentleman in Blackpool. It was during this time my appreciation and love for my job really blossomed, as I could see the positive affect my work had on the lives of those who required care. Through my job roles, I have been able to meet so many wonderful people who have equally affected my life as I have theirs.

In January 2022 I applied for a job with Westmorland Homecare and was happy to receive an e-mail inviting me for an interview. From the initial interview to the excellent training that followed, I felt I had become part of a truly competent team. After several months working in the field, an opportunity arose to become a business administrator for the company and I have been working in the office since August 2022. I’m excited to develop my skills in my business admin role and will be completing my first NVQ while working for the company.

I first started my career in care in 2017 where I worked in a nursing home. During my time here I experienced working with different types of dementia, from Alzheimer’s to Korsakoff’s as well as different mental health, challenging behaviour and learning disabilities. I gained lots of knowledge and experience on how working in a person-centred way contributes to delivering a high standard of care and the constant rewarding feeling I got daily made me sure care was the career path I wanted to take.

I started out as HCA when joining Westmorland then progressed on to the senior role. I really enjoyed being able to help other HCAs with their confidence and give them different techniques that helped when they would struggle with clients. It was rewarding to see the bonds being built with clients and HCAs and I really enjoyed being able provide care the allowed clients to stay in their own homes. I progressed to Training and Development Coordinator for Westmorland’s Poulton branch and have gained further training and knowledge to pass those helpful techniques and support onto our new starters and current HCAs. I have really enjoyed constantly updating and expanding my knowledge, and being able to spend the time ensuring our HCAs are competent and confident in their role. In 2026 I am delighted to develop my career and lead the Poulton Branch as their Care Manager.

Hello, I’m Rachel care coordinator recruitment, I have worked for Westmorland homecare for two and half years as a home care assistant ,a very satisfying and rewarding job .

I am originally from Teesside ,I moved to the lake district Ambleside / Windermere 22 years ago , my previous job was senior spa therapist .which was also a very rewarding job, one of my main roles was holistic and sports message, helping people with stress and rehabilitation.

I love spending time with my family, I love walking around the beautiful lake district with my partner and my dog frank.

Robyn Johnson

Care Coordinator – Administration

I am originally from the Northeast, but my postgraduate studies brought me to Leeds. My background is psychology and neuroscience and I have worked or volunteered in the health and social care sector since I was 16. I am a kind and caring and strive to help others be the best that they can be and as independent as possible.

My partner and I took a chance to relocate to Kendal in 2021 following his office transfer. I joined WHC as HCA Team Leader. I loved my role, providing outstanding care to our clients and supporting staff. I moved to the admin team in November 2022 and have been well trained and welcomed by my colleagues.

I am a running enthusiast! I consider myself a “long distance plodder” having completed 12 marathons and two ultramarathons to date. It’s been a surprise, but I absolutely love it and regularly run the 5km parkrun (ask me about it). It does me so much good and I’ve met many friends through running.

I love animals. I went vegetarian at age 10 and vegan in 2019. I am always trying to live greener and reduce my impact on the planet. I love making chocolate truffles and other sweet treats to share and craft all sorts. I have an extensive latch hook project on the go at the moment. I often dog sit Ruby the miniature sausage dog, who can “supervise” at the office. We look forward to meeting you and helping in any way we can.

My name is Claire, and after over 20 years’ experience in the care and customer service sectors, I am delighted to be working as a Client Coordinator for Westmorland Homecare. I consider Westmorland Homecare to be the best quality care service by far and I am so proud to have progressed from a Homecare Assistant, to a Team Leader and now to my current role. Westmorland Homecare really does value all its outstanding staff and the care provided to our clients, from the office to the Homecare Assistants, is second to none.

Outside of work I enjoy relaxing with my husband and our two gorgeous dogs, we have a cavapoo and a cockapoo! Hullo! I’m Curtis. Before working with Westmorland, I studied English Literature at Lancaster University and then I worked in the NHS as an Assistant Manager in Anaesthetics and Pain Management where I gained a post-graduate diploma in Healthcare Management from the Open University. After this I also did Secondary School Teacher training in English but having always had an interest in the health sector, I decided to enter the care sector and start my journey with Westmorland Homecare. I enjoy meeting new people, hearing old stories, going to the theatre, and learning new facts. For example, there are species of ant that smell like chocolate, olive oil, citrus, vinegar and blue cheese!

Senior Care Coordinator – Client Experience

I’ve spent many years working for two different GP practices in various roles, and working as an HCA for Spinal Homecare. For the past four years I’ve worked as a Coordinator/Clinical Supervisor for the Hospital Home Care team based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. My time was split between the two roles, firstly coordinating staff across Bay to patients, some of whom were quite complex and who’ve recently been discharged home and secondly, I’d conduct staff supervision, updating mandatory training etc and generally being a contact for the staff out in the community.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time outdoors, preferably with anything equine, and used to compete a lot when I had my own horse. And of course, I better mention spending time with my family! Very much look forward to getting to know our Westmorland Family.

Hi! My name is Kate, I previously worked for a private ambulance transport service whilst studying for a Business Administration NVQ at Lancaster and Morecambe College, once I had completed this qualification, I progressed my knowledge and experience as an Ambulance Care Assistant. Following this I worked in a boutique hotel situated in the Langdale Valley for 2 and a half years, I then made the decision to pursue my career in the caring community.

I have always had an interest in the health sector, I studied Health and Social Care for about 4 years, and Business Studies for 2 years. Whilst working in the hotel I studied an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Health and Human Science at Kendal College, completing this course really encouraged me to follow my passion of looking after people and helping in any way that I could. I started working with Westmorland Homecare as a Homecare Assistant in February 2021. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a HCA and spending time with my lovely clients, however, I have made the decision to progress my career in the office as a Care Co-Ordinator. Recently I have progressed to Senior Training looking after our amazing team in the community.

My name is Mandy, I have worked within the Care sector for some years now. I started out as a Home Care Assistant working in the community. I have worked with children, adults with learning disabilities and our older generation to keep them as independent for as long as possible. I have come over from working within the local hospital with Age UK Lancashire.

Since being at Westmorland Homecare – Lancaster & Morecambe it feels like I have found part of my family that has been missing. I am looking forward to the future.

I’m Rhianna and I am the Recruitment & Events Coordinator. I started working for Westmorland Homecare at the beginning of 2019. I’d had no previous care experience and immediately fell in love with the job. I started out as a Homecare Assistant, then became a Senior Homecare Assistant and it is now my job to find the right people to join our team.

Hi, I’m Siena and I have recently joined the scheduling team here at Westmorland Homecare.

I have previously worked in a children’s residential care setting before moving to an estate agency to further my administrative skills. Joining the extremely friendly and welcoming Westmorland Homecare team has allowed me to merge both skill sets together, but most importantly, I am happy to have returned to the care sector that enables me to enrich the lives of those that need it most.

I have always been passionate about Health and Social care since being in high school where I did my work placement in a Care Home looking after people with dementia. I loved the aspect of making a positive difference to people and always trying to enhance their lives, reflecting on this I then decided to go to college and study my Level 3 in Health & Social Care. During my education I had the pleasure of completing a work placement at the hospital looking after the elderly and in a care home.

Post College I then completed 100 hours work placement combined working as a student nurse at Clifton hospital giving rehabilitation to patients enabling them to safely get back to living at home and at the day surgery unit at Blackpool Victoria hospital. Doing work placement and working in lots of different environments allowed me to work alongside lots of different people and gain lots of experience and confidence.

I have worked full time in a Care Home with Dementia residents and this opened my eyes to how much great, person centred care can impact the individuals lives and their families too. It made me want to be the best carer I could be and give them the best quality of life. I then moved on to Domiciliary care and eventually found my way to Westmorland homecare as a carer. I have loved every minute of working for this company and loved building relationships with the clients and treating them as if they were my family.

I am now a Recruitment Coordinator for the company, and I want to do everything I can to recruit the best carers to ensure the clients are getting the best care possible, whilst ensuring the carers receive all the support they need. I look forward to chatting with you.

“When I started my journey with Westmorland homecare I was new to care and it was something i had never done before. However, I quickly settled in to my role as a HCA and loved my day to day duties, loved seeing all my regular clients and helping them stay independent.

After 12 months of being with Westmorland I was offered a Senior position and my favourite duty was mentoring and guiding new HCAs. I loved this opportunity because it is really rewarding and there’s nothing better than seeing their confidence grow just like mine did.

After 18 months i found out i had been shortlisted for an award at the Great British Care Awards for ‘New comer to care’! Needless to say this was a huge surprise!”

Hello, I’m Tracy!

I joined Westmorland Homecare 5 months ago and it’s been a great move. It’s always pretty daunting starting new job but everyone has been so friendly and welcoming, it’s been amazing!

My career started working for the NHS as a qualified nurse, since that brilliant foundation within the Health and Social Care sector, I’ve worked for various charities along the way! I’ve loved my career so far and feel lucky to be able to add more strings to my bow working in the Staff Development team here at Westmorland Homecare! I have always lived in South Lakeland and love the beauty of the hills.

I came to Westmorland homecare because I believe we share the same values. I grew up in Kirkby Lonsdale but moved to Burton in Kendal over 10 years ago now. I have two young daughters. I enjoy spending my spare time with my family and renovating our house. Very much look forward to meeting you, happy to help in any way I can.

Caroline Howsley

Back in 2017 I was delighted to be invited to be part of the Westmorland Homecare team as we set up the service in the South Lakes area. As our reputation grew I was able to work in each of the departments, learning so much and making great friends along the way. It was such a delight to see how a company could create such a positive culture for all colleagues and inspire others to want to become part of it.

In 2018 I left the company to enable me to care for a family member and work part time within the community as the manager of Ambleside Parish Centre, leading it through the turbulent times of covid. At the beginning of 2021 I was invited to apply to ‘come home’ to Westmorland Homecare as the Recruitment and HR Manager. Supporting and encouraging people is something that has been a key part of my life, from being involved in Scouting for over 30years, volunteering as a business mentor, trustee roles with charities supporting people with disabilities and even back in my college days, being the student representative on the equality, diversity and inclusion work group.

I moved to Cumbria in 2000 and have really settled into the life up here, especially being part of the community and learning about the history of Cumberland and Westmorland. My next big challenge is renovating an old house with my husband – cue him rolling his eyes at multiple fabric and colour swatches and me taking days to sand down furniture and wax it back to its glory.

I’m Daniel I am the Regional Director for Westmorland Homecare

My passions in life including caring for my ever-growing collections of animals and to be surrounded by caring and compassionate people. I have a thirst for providing the best care possible, knowing first-hand the importance and impact positive, professional care has for individuals and families alike. My role includes ensuring we have competent and highly trained, professional carers to support with your needs.

I have worked within the care and education sector for eight years, as a Human Resource practitioner supporting both Charities and large Private sector organisations to meet their unique and personal centred objectives. I thrive of working within the Care Sector and cannot imagine a more rewarding environment.

Michelle Livesey

I have lived and worked in The Lakes for the past 35 years working in a variety of different sectors. I can honestly say that WHC is the first job I have had where I have felt accepted, valued and appreciated. It really is a privilege to be a part of the WHC team in my role as Care Coordinator – Admin Assistant, and helping the company go from strength to strength. Tony Hadwin

Hi I’m Tony, Base in Grange I have worked all over Cumbria. Westmorland Homecare is the first service in the UK to have a full time estates assistant. Clients had been asking for support around the home to do small jobs. it’s often hard to find someone you can trust. I work alongside the care team to ensure our facilities across the services are first class, and am often out and about in the community helping our clients. Lucy Trusler

Care Coordinator – Client Care

I started working with Westmorland Homecare in 2019 as a Homecare Assistant and after working within the community team in the South Lakes with my lovely clients, I have since progressed and am now working as a Client Coordinator here in Lancaster. I love working with Westmorland Homecare and helping shape the way care is delivered in the community; making a positive difference to clients lives, along with supporting their families during an often difficult time.

Outside of I work life, I enjoys spending time with my family and two dogs getting out into the Lakes walking whenever I can.

Caroline Donoghue

Care Coordinator – Client Care

My name is Caroline Donoghue, I have lived in Staveley for over 40 years, I did spend my early childhood in Ambleside. I have worked in the Health and Social Care sector for over 30 years, gaining experience with older adult residential care, supporting clients living with dementia, end of life care and domiciliary care. I was employed in teaching, assessing and training in health and social care for 15 years and worked throughout Cumbria delivering health and social care qualifications and training.

Working with the team at Westmorland Homecare will enable me to promote these values that we share. That everyone has a right to high quality care and support, to be valued, respected and their voice to be heard. I will support clients with voicing their preferences and needs and set up a personalised package with a bespoke team to work with you to ensure that you have the best service. I will complete quality checks in person or on the phone if preferred. I can be contacted by ringing the office number.

Russell Crossley

Director

Russell joined Westmorland Homecare in 2018, overseeing the development of Westmorland Homecare in Poulton.

Russell has always had a vision to work within health and social care, with much family experience, he knew care could be delivered in a far more personal and compassionate way.

Russell has a vision to change the way homecare is delivered in this country. “Coming to work is like working with one big family” It is this mentality that makes the service Westmorland Homecare so unique.

Russell was part of the team that helped get the services first 5 star CQC Outstanding inspection in Kendal, one of only a handful in the country. He has carried this passion down to Poulton where Westmorland Homecare has set up a very special service right in the heart of the community. “We want to demonstrate to the country just how social care should be run”

Dr Chris Moss

Director

Dr Moss started his career in engineering before moving to health and social care, and completed his second degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Newcastle before undertaking specialist training in intensive care and anaesthetics.

With a passion for people, Chris has now decided to work to improve care for people in their own homes.

Outside of medicine, he is a keen cyclist and can often be found in the mountains or supporting charity trips around the world. He holds an ocean master sailing qualification, mountain medicine diploma and is a qualified skiing instructor.

“We founded Westmorland Homecare on traditional values because we wanted to do things differently. There’s no place like home and everyone should be free to remain where they are happy surrounded by the memories that make up a lifetime.

After personal experience trying to find good care for my grandma and struggling, I knew there must be a better way.”

Chris is also a Trustee for Beep Doctors a charity that proves emergency medical support to the ambulance service in times of major trauma across Cumbria.

Dr Joshua Macaulay

Director

Dr Macaulay has a background in both health and social care.

After growing up in the Lake District, he graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Medicine and Surgery and has worked in hospitals across the country.

Josh specialised in Emergency Medicine and practices at Westmorland General Hospital and the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. He has worked in home-care for over a decade and previously ran a home-care company in Liverpool before moving back to Kendal.

He has also worked in nursing homes including specialised dementia and challenging behaviour care.

Joshua holds a level 5 diploma in Leadership as well as undertaking extensive training in care management. Dr Macaulay is also a dementia trainer, moving and handling trainer and is a specialist safeguarding lead.

Josh is also the Directors of Kendal Business Improvement District (BID) a voluntary role to help improve the area in the centre of Kendal.

Stuart Croft

Care Coordinator

I live in Cartmel with my wife of 4 years, (and yes, I do enjoy the Sticky Toffee Pudding but shhhh, don’t tell anyone). We moved up here from the south in 2018 and have settled in so well and like everyone that lives here or comes to visit have fallen in love with The Lakes. So when I’m not working what do I like to do? Good question. Well, I enjoy getting out, walking taking in the lovely views on offer and even more so now we have our Chocolate Labrador, Buddy who has bundles of energy so it’s a great way to try and wear him out. I also think of myself as a ‘Master of Ale Tasting’, doing my bit to help the local community. I have worked in many different roles before joining the care sector (you may have spotted me whilst on your holidays abroad, as a Kids Entertainer). I’ve worked in care homes running activities and have also worked with adults with learning difficulties as a Support Worker. I started to work for Westmorland Homecare in October 2018 as a Homecare Assistant and really enjoyed the role getting out and about meeting some lovely people. Getting to know all about or clients and being to help them really gives you a sense of job satisfaction. I have since changed roles and am now part of the wonderful support team in the office. I started as in administrator and have now developed my skills to become a care coordinator looking after our wonderful clients across the South Lakes.

Kelsey Walmsley

Hello, I’m Kelsey, and I am the Registered Manager at Westmorland Homecare across the South Lakes

Having worked in the client team at Westmorland Homecare moving onto become senior coordinator for care I’m thrilled that in Jan 2023 I took on the role as Care Manager for the South Lakes. We have a very special team at Westmorland Homecare, it’s a privilege to be able to continue to develop our very special service across the region.

I grew up in Burton in Kendal and I love living so close to the Lakes; I like to go for walks and I also like to take part in outdoor adventures. I do not let the wet weather put me off… usually!

My daughter also likes to get out and about and loves splashing in puddles, so she is definitely not put off by the rain. My husband, however, is not as keen when it’s raining.

I have worked in Health and Social Care since I left college in 2007 – this was usually in residential settings which provided me with many great experiences but now I am proud to be a part of an outstanding company that supports people to continue to live independently in their own home. I look forward to meeting you.

Becky Ashmore

Registered Manager

I joined Westmorland Homecare with an extensive background in care, with skills in many different areas with my professional experience supported by NVQ Health and Social Care Level 2 and 3, and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care.

I have worked within the care sector since 2002 with experience ranging from domiciliary care to residential care and even care on the wards of Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

I have a real passion for dignity, respect and promoting independence – I believe social care is a calling and a way of life. I start everyday with the same passion and ethos.

Tracy Redwood

Registered Manager – Preston

I started my journey working in health and social care over in 2006 and my passion to make a real difference to people’s lives by giving excellent care remains to this day – being pro-active, empathic and caring about another person’s needs is at the heart of what I do.

Through work, ongoing training and study I have gained NVQ Level 2, 3 and 5 in Management for Health and Social Care.

I have had the pleasure of working alongside varied clientele and professionals throughout my career and all this experience allows me to have greater understanding of what receiving care can really achieve and the positive impact it can have.

If we have good communication, excellent services and collaborative working then the transition into using care services for all people is easier. This, I believe, is what we have in place at Westmorland Homecare.

Katie Denye

Care Coordinator -Training and Development

I have enjoyed quite a mixed career to date, and have worked in a number of administration roles, as a chef, in retail and management.

I came into social care through being a support worker where I supported adults with mental health problems and as part of my job was to enable them to get back into society and live their lives as independently as possible.

I then wanted to gain more experience in domiciliary care so joined a company as a Healthcare Assistant and worked to becoming a Senior HCA. The company I worked for at the time was mainly focused on dementia care and, as a result, I gained lots of experience along with my introduction to personal care.

After a while I realised I wanted to broaden my knowledge of different health conditions and decided to apply as a Health Care Assistant for Westmorland Homecare – and what a difference this made!

I am now the Care Coordinator for Training and Development, based primarily from the office in Poulton-le-Fylde. Along with supporting our clients, I can support all staff from the start of their journey with the company and continuing their professional career in care.

Abbey Cowburn

Administrator & Events Coordinator

I started off with always wanting to be a professional dancer and growing up I went through the different grades in ballet and tap. This led to me being nominated by the examination board on three occasions to compete in the national IDTA Dance Championships.

It was around this time that I decided to broaden my professional skills and am now a qualified Sports Massage Therapist.

At present I am studying for my Business Administration Apprenticeship with Westmorland Homecare.

Outside of work, I love to be outdoors – camping, walking or helping out at the allotment whilst spending time with family and friends.

When I have spare time outside of work and study, I like to be as creative as possible through digital art.

Faye Smith

Care Coordinator – Recruitment & Staff Support

I’m Faye and I come from a hospital background working in cancer services where I loved meeting and supporting needs of some very special people.

Westmorland Homecare provided the perfect balance between providing support and HR duties both of which I really enjoy, it’s great to be able to support such a dedicated community team.

Outside of work I am studying towards a BA in Psychology with the hope to then go on to study for a Masters in Forensic Psychology.

When I have spare time outside of work and study, I like to be as creative as possible through digital art.

Tom Roach

‘I’m Tom, I’m part of the administration team here at Westmorland Homecare.

I am relatively new to care as a whole, I have worked in hospitality previously but am being trained and supported in this new path by a truly brilliant team.

I can’t praise the work of the company enough, helping people to remain independent and happy in their own homes for as long as is possible, it’s really important work and it feels great to be a part of in any capacity.

Sarka Svobodova

Care Coordinator – Training & Staff Development

Hi I’m Sarka, one of the staff training and support coordinators at Westmorland Homecare. I have spent my life in the health and social care sector and this really is my dream job, looking after and supporting our very special team of home care assistance. I have a real vision to develop our training and support to ensure our client a look after in the very best way possible. We are continually developing our training and support for staff across the service. Outside of work have a secret passion for arts crafts and anything creative, luckily I have a very understanding partner Paul who has made me a very special arts and crafts cave in the garden. I am originally form Czechoslovakia and when I get a moment love to bake local food for our team. Very much look forward to meeting you.

Sarah Croasdell

Senior Care Coordinator – Operations

I’m Sarah, I have always worked in the care sector and I really couldn’t imagine myself in any other job.

I have worked with people with brain injuries, learning disabilities, the blind, older adults, children with learning difficulties and younger children.

I have enjoyed every job that I have undertaken, as I enjoy dedicating my time to help others and making life as valued as possible for the individuals in my life. As long as others are happy, this makes me happy.

I am a family-orientated individual and enjoy spending my time with them. I have two huskies Nala and Ice who are crazy but they mean a great deal to me! When the huskies don’t have all my attention Brad and I go on adventures on the Bike across Cumbria.

I have enjoyed all my roles within the company, from administrator to scheduler, trying to help others achieve the best possible outcome to stay at home and be happy and independent as possible. I now oversee the operational side of Westmorland Homecare, a big operation behind the scene. I love being able to spend time chatting to both our amazing staff and clients.

Julie Eldem

Care Coordinator – Scheduling Team & Gardening Coordinator

I have been working for Westmorland Homecare for the last 2 years, having extensive experience in scheduling doctors in the NHS is has been great to work with our community teams to ensure both our staff and clients are looked after. At Westmorland Homecare we take great pride in ensuring our clients are looked after by small teams, I really do feel apart of the extended Westmorland Family.

Outside of work I’m kept occupied visiting Wales, on a sunny day you can always find me in the garden, my recent addition to the family is Teddy (a shipoo) and very special four legged friend.

Jacob Curry

Care Coordinator – Administration

My name’s Jacob and I’ve worked with Westmorland Homecare for nearly 2 years now and have loved every bit of it! I studied music in Liverpool, conducted choirs and wrote a dissertation on how music is so important in all aspects of care. I’m looking forward to doing some really special work with music and care within our community. I work on the front desk, looking after our staff and clients, I’m always very happy to help anyone that comes through the front door. In my spare time I’m currently completing my Masters in Computer Science.

I have worked for WHC for 3 years, I was lucky enough to be a part of something very new & exciting set up by our wonderful Doctors from the beginning. I have had the privilege to see our fantastic service & Team grow into what it is today.

I over see the scheduling team here in Kendal ensuring all our staff have accurate rotas and our clients are looked after by small Westmorland Family teams. It is a complex job but highly rewarding, lovely to be able to chat to our clients to find out how we can help them best.

I am Kendal born & bred, I had 4 very happy years with my husband & 4 children living in the Netherlands but ultimately found my heart belongs in Kendal.

Bernadine Davies

I have worked in social care all my life in various areas from residential care, physical disabilities, NHS, specialist education and community care. I love my job because I get to meet such wonderful and special people every day. I want to ensure all our client’s needs are met by delivering the very best service. I have worked for Westmorland Homecare for over 4 years, starting as a client coordinator, and progressing to care manager. Having been in care all my life I am now looking forward to working part time on our community programme. It is my passion to provide the best care for both our staff and clients looking after people as though they were my family, I am thrilled to be taking up this new role in within the South Lakes community. I can honestly say it is the most amazing team I have ever worked with, one that I am proud to represent.

Kelly Haygarth

Senior Care Coordinator – Training & Staff Recruitment (COVID 19 Lead)

I’m Kelly, and I am the Staff Development Coordinator here at Westmorland Homecare.

I have worked in Health and Social Care sector for many years, working with tiny neonatal babies through to wonderful people aged 100+.

A lot of the experience and knowledge I have gained over the years is now being used to help train and support the wonderful staff we have here at Westmorland Homecare.

I am a local girl – born and bred here in Kendal – and I feel privileged to be contributing to such a wonderful service that is here to support the South Lakeland community.

Since the start of the pandemic I have been lead for COVID 19 for the service, a challenging job but so import we keep our staff and clients safe.

Katie Pennington

Hello! I’m Katie, and I am originally from Wigan. I am the Registered Care Manager here. I have always had a passion for working in care and in 2019 I moved to Cumbria and joined Westmorland Homecare as a Care Co-ordinator. My journey with the company has been truly exciting and I have really been made to feel part of the family. From Kendal I moved across to Lancaster and I am thrilled to have progressed throughout the company with the support of my directors to be where I am now. Managing the service is something I am incredibly proud of.

Not only have I become part of the team, but so has my Cockapoo Lola – she is great company in the office from time to time and is also a proud member of Westmorland Homecare! Outside of my wonderful work life I now live in Ulverston with my partner. I also have a son, Ezra who keeps me busy outside of my working life!

“Hi, I’m Sarah and I started working with Westmorland Homecare in 2017 as an Administrator in the Kendal & South Lakes offices whilst completing a BTEC Diploma in Business Administration. My career has now progressed to the role of Care Coordinator where I mainly deal with the operational side of the business, with all matters financial from payroll to invoicing, as well as still doing some administrative tasks.

As I’ve been with the company since the beginning, I have taken full advantage of the variety of roles that have come my way and I’m now part of the team in the Westmorland Homecare Lancaster and Morecambe offices.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to music gigs and walking the fells and mountains in the Lake District with my dogs. “

Christie Parker

Since completing my degree in Social Work, I decided to gain experience working within care homes and domiciliary services to truly understand the role of a carer and other professionals they interacted with and have worked in the care sector ever since.

I started with Westmorland Homecare in 2018 and have worked as a Homecare Assistant, Recruitment Coordinator, Senior Coordinator for Operations and now working as the Care Manager for Westmorland Homecare Lancaster and Morecambe.

The journey has been so exciting, both on a personal level and as an employee of the Westmorland Homecare family. I cannot wait to see what the future brings for Westmorland Homecare – it’s such a special place to work and I am so proud to be part of it.
