Homecare staff go extra mile to help elderly clients during coronavirus pandemic
12/05/2020

As COVID19 unfolds, the team at Westmorland Homecare work around the clock to support our community.
It has been a huge team effort.
After Dr Chris Moss, Founding Director at Westmorland Homecare, appeared on the BBC National News to highlight the issues of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) it has been donated from all corners of the world – just this week we had donation from China, and a florist from Berkshire sent up 500 aprons.
This has been so very appreciated as our PPE costs have risen 500% this month, so we want to say thank you to all that have help during this very challenging time.
We have had some wonderful feedback from clients and their families that despite this current situation they feel safe and secure.
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our Community Health Care Assistants (HCAs) who have a passion for care and looking after our community.
We want to say a massive heart felt thank you to every single one of they, they do a wonderful and very important job.
We are always looking for special people to join our team, we would love to hear from you, the only thing we ask if you have a passion for care and looking after the community, we live in.
Dr Josh Macaulay is overseeing the day-to-day operation in Kendal, alongside our 12 very special office team who ensure that the clients are look after in what every what needed.
Our client coordinators – Sue and Bernadine in Kendal, and Tracy in Poulton – have many years of experience at ensuring we provide you the right level of support, keeping you happy and independent at home.
Sue said “Working at Westmorland Homecare is like working with an extended family, it is extremely rewarding enabling families to maintain their independence”
“We support people from the age of 18 to 108, we are always more than happy to chat.”
Thank you to all the Key workers across the UK and across different industries who are working around the clock to ensure key services are maintained.
And finally, a huge thank you to our NHS and GP teams as well as a big thank you to you for staying at home to help protect our elderly community.
